Weigh – In Start Time: 7:30am

Race Start Time: 9:15am

RACE DAY INFORMATION: RACE REGULATIONS

  1. All American Soap Box Derby rules apply.
  2. The wheel swaps will be 2-4-2 progressive!
  3. All cars will be reviewed for adequate brake pads at weigh-ins.
  4. Tools will only be allowed in the designated pit areas.
  5. All cars may be inspected prior to the race and randomly throughout the day.
  6. All repairs MUST be done in the pit area with the approval of a race official.
  7. Cars that are still racing should remain in the pre-staging area while they continue to race.
  8. No flash photography allowed at the finish line.
  9. All cars will be required to adhere to the current AA Soap Box Derby construction.
  10. All cars may be inspected, make sure your car complies with current rules.

PLEASE NOTE THESE INDIANAPOLIS – SPECIFIC RULES:

  1. Cars that continue into the gravel stopping area in their A Phase will be disqualified from that heat.
  2. Cars that continue into the gravel stopping area in their B Phase will not be disqualified, but a wheel inspection must occur.
  3. If a Race Official observes a wheel fully cross the center line before and/or after the timer, that car will be disqualified from that heat – regardless of phase.
  4. If a Race Official observes a car contacting the guardrails, that car will be disqualified from that heat – regardless of phase.
  5. Weigh-ins will only occur in the morning for each day.
  6. A car’s weight may be challenged by a competitor, but only before the heat in which that competitor and the challenged car occurs.
  7. If a car’s weight is challenged, both cars will be required to be re-weighed.
  8. A car’s weight may only be challenged twice per race (Double/Single)

ANY & ALL DISPUTES WILL BE ADJUDICATED BY THE RACE DIRECTOR AND AT LEAST TWO OTHER INDIANAPOLIS SOAP BOX DERBY BOARD MEMBERS.  THEIR DECISIONS SHALL BE FINAL.
